OUR VISION
RESPONSIBLE CLOTHING IS, ABOVE ALL, CLOTHING THAT STANDS THE TEST OF TIME
Soeur defends a certain vision of sustainable fashion, of pieces that are handed down and stand the test of time. It guides our ambition to make each of our collections, season after season, more ethical, more qualitative, more respectful of our planet, today and for tomorrow.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we are focusing on the recyclability of our products at the end of their life cycle, giving priority to unmixed materials. By 2023, almost 70% of our textile parts will be single-material.
We believe in timeless fashion that stands the test of time and can be worn all year round. That's why we've created a collection of "Permanents" and renewed many of the models in our range.
OUR FIRST PRINCIPLE
LONG-TERM, LOCAL RELATIONSHIPS
By 2023, 70% of our parts will be produced in Europe and North Africa.
In our vision of slow fashion, we focus not only on the sustainability of our pieces, but also on the sustainability of our relationships by building loyal relationships with our partners. 25% of them have been with us for at least five years, and a third since the beginning. These suppliers know our products, our requirements and work with us to improve our models. That's why we don't stop at their geographical location. However, we do our utmost to develop new local partnerships in Europe and North Africa.
These long-term commitments give them the financial stability they need to set up social programmes in their factories and in turn improve their production lines.
OUR CONVICTION
BETTER KNOWLEDGE MEANS BETTER MANUFACTURING : TRACEABILITY
This is the first challenge in our CSR approach, and it is a vital one. It is thanks to traceability that we are able to carry out social audits, improve our processes and guarantee transparency to our customers by knowing where and how the different stages of our production are carried out.
In March 2022, Soeur joined the ICS (Initiative for Compliance and Sustainability), in order to assess the working conditions of its suppliers and support them in their efforts to improve.
This enables us to reduce social and environmental risks, and continuously improve the quality and sustainability of our products.
By 2023, 96% of Tier 1* suppliers had been audited on the basis of demanding social methodology and 35% of our materials suppliers.
*DID YOU KNOW?
The garment manufacturing chain is made up of 4 main stages: production and extraction of raw materials, transformation of raw materials (spinning), weaving, knitting, dyeing or printing and finally garment manufacture. As a brand, we are in direct contact with clothing suppliers (tier 1) and sometimes with material suppliers (tier 2). Encouraged by the introduction of the AGEC law, we ask our suppliers about the origin of the previous stages.
OUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
TOWARDS MORE RESPONSIBLE COLLECTIONS
We take care to favour the use of more sustainable raw materials in the development of our collections.
To this end, we have created our eco-responsibility standard, which serves as a guide. Without ceasing to question ourselves, we decided in 2023 to revise our definition of Soeur eco-responsibility to make it more demanding. From now on, viscose and Oeko-Tex certification are not enough to be considered ecoresponsible at Soeur (except for silk).
The Spring-Summer 2024 collection already includes 53% eco-responsible items.
When it comes to manufacturing processes, we're constantly looking for techniques that reduce our impact, both in terms of resource use and environmental waste. Collaborations are often an opportunity for us to experiment with new materials: with Léandra Medine Cohen, we chose from stocks of fabrics used in previous collections. With K-way®, we tested a 100% recycled fabric developed by their team.
OUR AIM
A COMMITTED TEAM
We are convinced that the brand's commitment depends on a shared commitment by all our employees to support and drive our projects and our vision. By 2023, 70% of the head office team had been trained in CSR issues
